Operations Research Analyst
Using mathematical, simulation and other optimizing modeling methods, analyze operational and management problems related to accounting, and propose alternative courses of action. Use computer and other tools to develop and interpret information to assist management with decision making, policy formulation, and other managerial functions. Obtain information from management about accounting problem, defining the problem. Analyze existing operational system, gather information and analyze information about existing system. Evaluate problem, breaking down problem into components. Gather information and analyze information about components. Formulate and apply mathematical, simulation, and other optimizing modeling methods to determine appropriate analytical techniques to apply to problem. Prepare FOCUS reports, FINRA reports, state annual reports, and other state reports in support of analysis of problem. Report alternative solutions to management based on mathematical, simulation, and other optimizing modeling methods to analyze problem, describe and explain possible outcomes of each alternative solution, and recommend solution based on analysis. Prepare reports of recommendations, and operational analysis leading to recommendations.
Requires MBA or Master’s degree in related field, plus 2 years experience in job offered or 2 years experience in the related occupation of Accountant. Any suitable combination of education, training, or experience is acceptable.
